About Grand Blanc Youth Football and Cheerleading
Grand Blanc Youth Football, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by residents of Grand Blanc, with the intention of bringing an instruction-intensive, league-based youth tackle football program to Grand Blanc.
Grand Blanc Youth Football and Cheerleading is not affiliated with Grand Blanc Schools nor Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation. We are funded entirely by registration fees, fundraising, sponsorships, and the generous donations of members of the community.
Our first season, 2007, fielded 4 full teams -- 2 Freshman and 2 JV -- consisting of more than 80 players and 40 cheerleaders.
Our 2008 season featured 6 teams -- 3 Freshman and 3 JV -- totaling about 130 players and 60 cheerleaders.
Our 2009 and 2010 seasons featured a Varsity team -- in addition to 3 Freshman and 3 JV teams -- for almost 150 players and 80 cheerleaders.
Thank you Grand Blanc!
Mission Statement of Grand Blanc Youth Football
The mission of the Grand Blanc Youth Football Inc. League is to organize and maintain recreational athletics (Youth Football) in an instructional nature; to provide adequate supervision and guidance, to promote the development of honesty and good fellowship, self-discipline and team play, which are the basic essentials of Good Sportsmanship.
What does this mean for Grand Blanc?
- Organized Youth Football and Cheerleading for ages 8-13.
- Football played on real fields. Some games under the Lights!
- The league follows MHSAA rules. Games are officiated by MHSAA officials.
- An EMPHASIS on instructional coaching and safety.
- A playbook that is developed in coordination with the Grand Blanc High School Football program. We run the plays our kids will be running once they enter the Grand Blanc Middle School and High School football programs and teach those fundamentals. This benefits the kids as well as those programs.
